Ever wanted to record your own song composition pieces but unwilling to pay the huge prices for professional recording? Then you could do it now with your own DIY method! I’ll show you how.

So I would be talking about the tone port for this post. Well basically, its a device that links your electric guitar to your laptop computer, so that whatever sound or notes played on the guitar could be recorded into the laptop, into a software called mixcraft which is mentioned earlier on. This tone port could also be used to link the microphone to the laptop computer. In which it would mean that you could record all your songs by having just the tone port and the necessary instruments!

I would recommend you to use the Line 6 brand for tone ports based on my experience of using it. Well, it gives a clear sound to the guitar notes and its at affordable price, probably around SGD$30-40.

And that’s not all, you could get an even better one with special effects sounds for a higher amount. However, drum recordings would not be applicable for this tone port. We will talk more about the set-up for drum recordings in the next post! So stay in tune!
